Top 7 Kitchen Trends for 2025

Oct 21, 2024 | Design Inspiration

You spend more time in your kitchen than any other part of your home. Is your kitchen looking dated, worn out or just not working for you and your family anymore?  A well-planned kitchen renovation will not only change the way your kitchen looks but can dramatically transform the functionality of your space.  If it’s time to give your kitchen a remodel, we are here to help make it a place you love and ENJOY spending time in!  To inspire you, our in-house design team want to share some the Top Kitchen Trends to consider before starting your home renovation project:

Neutral tones

Ultra-modern designs can sometimes leave you feeling a bit “cold”.  Bring in more warmth into a space with creamy and neutral tones, creating a more inviting feel (yep, beige is back).  And don’t forget to mix textures to add depth and visual interest.

Wood Accents

Wood textures, finishes and accents are coming right back around. There are so many beautiful wood finishes you can add to your kitchen renovation. From wood countertops, wood accent shelves or a beautiful wood hood fan, add warmth to your kitchen with wood!

Add a Pop of Colour

One major kitchen renovation trend over the last few years is adding a “pop” of colour to your kitchen! There are a ton of different ways to incorporate this trend. From beautiful bright cabinets, a statement wall colour or even adding a funky coloured fridge (have you seen the Smeg pink fridge?) can bring in this trend to your kitchen!   But remember less is more— a little bit of color will add interest and really pop against a warm neutral background.

To Ceiling Cabinets

This is a no brainer—an excellent example where design and function meet.  Cabinets that go all the way to the ceiling look fresh and tidy, giving the illusion of higher ceilings, while using the most out of that added space to store items you use less often. So many dated kitchens let this space go to waste with a dust-collector shelf cluttered up with random items you couldn’t find anywhere else to store.  Who wants to see (or clean) that!

Custom Cabinets

Who says you have to have plain wood cabinets?  There are so many options to make your cabinets stand out or mix and match different varieties to add some interest to the room! The options really are endless when it comes to the colour of cabinets you decide for your kitchen. It’s no longer just limited to the typical white or wood style – you can now venture down the lane of COLOUR! From navy blue, deep forest green or a modern grey – you can bring your personality to your kitchen!  Criss cross designs or other elements add personality versus a flat front.  Or glass front cabinets can also allow you to show off some funky glasses or bright dishes (and add a pop of color!)

Hardware- to have or not to have

With so many options on the market, your hardware can be such a statement in your kitchen. Brushed copper, gold, black or otherwise – there are so many trendy options to add something extra to your kitchen!  On the other end of the spectrum, another trend for kitchen designs is to make cabinets “handleless”.  This creates a super seamless  kitchen that looks oh-so sleek and modern with hidden drawers and even hidden appliances!  Want a little of both?  Go handleless on your upper cabinets and choose bold hardware on your lower cabinets.  Either way, hardware is a great way to express your personal style.  Check out our tips for selecting kitchen hardware.

Extend your Island

Not only will this look AMAZING in your kitchen renovation, but makes your space super functional, especially for a busy family. Consider extending your island and making your dining table or breakfast bar a little bigger and more functional for your family!  If you are lucky enough to have extra space in your kitchen renovation, consider adding another kitchen island. Adding double kitchen islands will expand your kitchen workspace to be more multi-purpose, adding double kitchen islands as part of your kitchen renovation. This can be created with either connected or separate islands and can be easily implemented in open-plan spaces when space isn’t an issue.

Built in Appliances

Hide your appliances away in your cupboards! Not only does this look great, but can provide a lot more counter space, especially if you consider a built-in microwave!

Smart Tech

One big trend over the last few years has been adding some smart tech to your kitchen! There are so many cool details you can wire into this room, to add functionality or aesthetic. Adding USB ports, Wi-Fi gadgets or uplighting to your beautiful dishes – with smart tech the options are endless!

Organization + Storage

Hands up if you have watched “The Home Edit” and are still dreaming of a meticulously organized color-pantry they got their hands on? Storage is a big factor when it comes to renovating your kitchen! Installing a super sleek pantry, to house all your food / small appliances is just something you NEED!
