How to Create the Perfect “Staycation”

It’s time to turn your home into a GETAWAY.

With the world changing before or eyes, there has never been a better time to improve your home. Travel will be different in the future, and who knows how long it will stay that way. In the meantime, why not transform your home into the perfect spot to spend a “Staycation”? That way, you can ensure every weekend will feel like a getaway!

Here are our top ways to transform your space into the perfect “staycation” spot:

Add a Sunroom/ Covered Outdoor Space

With Calgary weather being unpredictable as it is,  with a short summer season, adding a covered patio or sunroom is the perfect addition for the Alberta Climate. You want to create a space where It FEELS like you are enjoying outdoors, while still being comfortable with the weather.

What are some things to consider adding to this space? An outdoor fire pit, a hot tub, comfortable seating, and ton of windows!

Add a Luxurious Bathroom

One of the best things about vacation, is staying at a hotel that feels like a spa! There is nothing like relaxing when enjoying time off.

Make your bathroom feel luxurious with a huge bathtub to soak in, a steam shower (to spend more than 10 minutes in) or a huge double sink with a mirror to take your time getting ready for that big night out. Instead of waiting for your vacation to enjoy these things – why not bring them home?

Add your own Mini Bar

Who says you can’t have it all? We certainly don’t. While you’re enjoying the comfort of your own home, you might as well enjoy a cold cocktail while you’re at it!

Install your own mini bar in your basement or even on your outdoor deck! There is nothing like easy access to your next refreshing drink to make it REALLY feel like vacation!
